The Adventurer behind...Jamaica Adventure Secrets

maureen_wright-evans Maureen Wright-Evans is a woman with an indomitable spirit. She is a determined and fierce competitor with a strong passion and will to succeed. No wonder her motto is ‘Never Give Up!'

Maureen wears several hats when it comes to business. She is a Marketing Consultant, founder of the Jamaica Youth Development Foundation and CEO of Smokey Manor Guest House. This dynamic and creative entrepreneur is committed to creating possibilities for others and herself. That commitment has motivated her to search for new and exciting ways to market Jamaica as a premier tourist destination.

Maureen's journey as an Adventurer began when she was only 12 years old and her mother was a housekeeper/cook who worked in a Villa in hills of the resort town San-San Jamaica. Maureen's mother was poor and could not afford supervision for her only daughter during her work hours and so she hid her after school each day in the staff quarters at her place of work. Unknown to her mom, Maureen would wonder on the beach and talk to the guests about Jamaica.

It was on one of those days when Maureen was wandering on the beach that she met a couple from Windsor, Canada who was so impressed with the little girl's love for her country that they found her mother and offered to sponsor Maureen through high school. Maureen recalls: "This Was The Gift That Changed My Life". Without realizing it at the time, Summer Isle Event Marketing was born and was the seed that has blossomed into Jamaica Adventure Secrets.

In 2001, Maureen became restless and wanted to do something different but exciting. Her love and passion for Jamaica beckoned and she envisioned creating an Online Community which would bring adventure lovers together. In her mind's eye, adventurers would see the awesome Blue Mountains, Port Royal, Dunn's River Falls and all the exotic and beautiful sights of Jamaica.

Apart from the more traditional travel offering, Maureen wanted to find a way to inject her other passions into the company an asked herself "What can I give to help the people of Jamaica?" and "How can I make a difference using my love of travel and adventure?" The answer to these questions came with one word "Volunteering". Maureen then decided to create Volunteer Adventure Packages which would give volunteers a chance to share their skills and talents while getting back through the cultural enrichment of the island.

The rest they say is history, or in Maureen's case "her story"!

	Audley Evans Audley is Maureen's husband who handles all the operational details of the business. Audley will take care of all your tour details and handles all the fresh fruits and vegetables used to prepare your meals at Smokey Manor.
	Marlon Evans All the guests fall in love with Marlon. He will welcome you with those gorgeous eyes and charming smile and assist with your entertainment details.
	Omar Evans Here's the guy who is behind the camera and one of the marketing experts of the family - owned business. If you allow him, he will certainly engage you in a conversation about the stock market or Foreign Exchange Trading and he might make you the next movie star when when he chooses to shoot you in one of the marketing videos.
	Louise A treasure and the 'heart of the kitchen'. This Cook serves mouth watering foods and has a passion for making fresh daily juices with in-season fruits. Louise will have you smacking your lips and fingers and asking for more food.

Jamaica Adventure Secrets create unique, once-in-a-lifetime expereinces for those seeking thrilling Adventure Getaways. For others who would like to make a difference by volunteering, there are packages that offer a "Taste of Volunteering" and others that give a longer experience combined with exciting day tours and cultural visits.

Jamaica Adventure Secrets' goal is to offer small exclusive group experiences. In light of that, packages are targeted for 2 - 15 persons.
