Yes - You need a valid passport to enter Jamaica.
Travelers to Jamaica do not require any shots or vaccines before entering the island.
You can pay your bills in a foreign currency and with a credit card. We would suggest that you change some of your money to Jamaican dollars as some places will not be able to take your currency. Some purchases would also be cheaper in Jamaican dollars.
Cambios and banks are available for money exchange. We'll assist you by either converting your currency or providing transportation to do the exchange your money.
Jamaica’s water is safe to drink. Many ships stop here just for refilling their water supplies. If you do not want to drink our water, there is an abundant supply of bottled water for purchase.
Jamaica is a tropical country so you should bring light clothing. During your winter months, we sometimes have some cooler nights, so we suggest you bring a light jacket.
Yes, if you have roaming service connected to our phone.
You may not need all of the following but we suggest you include:
- Insect repellant for bugs or mosquitoes (on adventure tours these might be needed)
- Sturdy shoes and sneakers
- Bathing suit
- Small umbrella
- Sun screen
- Camera (don’t forget extra batteries and memory card)
- Passport (make a copy of passport)
- Money and ATM card if needed
- If you are Volunteering, we require you to wear skirts or slacks. Shorts are not allowed to be worn on our Volunteer Program
- If you have small gifts or stickers bring them along as they can be useful to hand out as prizes
- Any extra space you have in you luggage, we ask that you consider taking items to donate. These gifts, however small, might make a big difference in someone’s life.

Yes, we have crime in Jamaica as you have in your country. Jamaica is a small island and often times the news is very sensational. As you would do in your country, you should be careful and use precaution and common sense.
Many of the crimes are centered in the inner cities and we do not recommend that you go there. As it is in your country, there are places you would go and those you would avoid.
